Npower Expands Tracking With Digicore
MeterPlus, the metering division of the energy company npower, has extended its contract with DigiCore to track an additional 100 vans within its UK vehicle fleet.
The expansion comes two years after DigiCore was originally appointed to develop and implement an innovative vehicle tracking solution across 300 vehicles that operate in the North-East, Yorkshire, North-West and East Midlands regions.
The vehicle tracking solution, utilising DigiCore’s C-track system, is designed to give total transparency of fleet movements in real-time to maximise the productivity and effectiveness of its mobile workforce and assets. It has enabled MeterPlus to achieve enhanced management flexibility and control to bring genuine benefits to both customers and employees.
In addition to providing enhanced fleet management, the solution also features driver support with fully-integrated remote panic alert and portable satellite navigation functionality. The remote alert – which can be used within 20 metres of the vehicle – will enable employees to alert npower of any potential problems or incidents, providing drivers with added security.
Commenting on the fleet management solution, Graham Jefferies, Head of MeterPlus said: “In the past two years, the C-track system has provided increased fleet control and enabled us to better manage our Meter Installations operation. The expansion to the vehicle tracking solution will provide even greater opportunity to achieve operational efficiencies and further optimise our fleet operation.”
Tom O’Connor, Managing Director of DigiCore Ltd said: “We are delighted that npower has chosen to extend its vehicle tracking system which further endorses the effectiveness of our solutions within the service management sector. The C-track system has become the vehicle tracking system of choice amongst utilities businesses by repeatedly demonstrating the value it can provide.”
C-track is a sophisticated fleet management system that adopts the latest technology to provide a comprehensive real-time vehicle management tool. This proven solution provides vital information about mobile assets and workforce, and offers a scaleable mobile solution that meets the complex needs of car, van and commercial vehicle fleet operators.
