Get Behind the Wheel
...at Allison’s Ride and Drive Event.
Commercial duty fully automatic manufacturer Allison Transmission is offering operators and owner drivers the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the latest buses and trucks equipped with their products.
The event will take place on the 5th June at the Millbrook Proving Ground, Bedfordshire; the location providing an ideal environment to experience the transmission over a variety of road types, speeds and gradients. The event expands from the successful “we share your view” seminars that brought together operators and OEMs to discuss the benefits and low life cycle costs running an automatic transmission can bring to incorporate driving vehicles.
“Driving a bus or truck equipped with a fully automatic is the best way to really appreciate how effective this type of gearbox is in a variety of applications,” says Riccardo Sardelli. “Visitors to the seminars have discovered how cost-efficient our transmissions our over the life of the vehicle. Now they’ll be able to experience, first hand the ease of use, maneuverability, increased safety and performance a fully automatic can offer in many disciplines.
Allison expects to have vehicles from construction, distribution, municipal and bus, from across a host of OEMs. These are expected include the Business Post Scania distribution truck, Day’s Aggregates Scania Tipper, Bell B40 articulated dump truck, Renault Premium refuse truck and the Skanska Mercedes Benz Econic Tipper. The firm is also planning a selection of conventional and hybrid buses. Entry will be by registration only and is on a first come first served basis. Anyone wishing to attend should visit www.weshareyourview.com to register.
