Northern Ireland to adopt Road Transport Regulations

Document Actions
As things stand at the moment Northern Ireland is not covered by the EU Road Transport Directive (RTD) as it is applied in the UK Road Transport (Working Time) Regulations. This is because the appropriate legislation to cover the six counties has yet to be passed.

The FTA is reporting that the Road Transport (Working Time) Regulations is finally to come into force in Northern Ireland on 16th June 2005. The implementing regulations will mirror the provisions contained in the Regulations which has been in force in the rest of the UK since 4th April.
