Scottish Transport Inquiry Takes Shape

Document Actions
The upshot of numerous written submissions by road haulage operators to the Scottish Parliament is the creation of a formal Freight Transport Inquiry likely to be held in Edinburgh later this month.

Based on an initiative of the Road Haulage Association's Scottish regional office, many member companies wrote to the parliament's local government and transport committee, outlining their frustrations on a myriad of negative trading conditions.

Transport News understands that a number of rail freight concerns have also responded.

RHA Scottish regional director Phil Flanders expected the inquiry coordinator to be appointed by mid-January with oral evidence being heard at a meeting, or a series of meetings, starting later this month.
