NETV Secures Fleet Deal WEurovision Logistics

Document Actions
North East Truck & Van (NETV) has secured a significant fleet order from Eurovision Logistics – the new face of European Road Freight and IJ Blakey Haulage – which merged in 2007 but had previously continued to trade separately.
The deal sees NETV’s Hull dealership deliver 14 Iveco Stralis Active Space Super³ tractor units to the company, each branded with the new Eurovision Logistics livery.

Comprising ten 6x2 Stralis tractors and four 4x2’s, the fleet will be split between general haulage operations in the UK and the company’s dedicated trunking services to Italy – which sees 20 trailer movements between the two countries each week, with drops in Vicenza (Northern Italy) and Rome.

NETV, one of the largest privately owned commercial vehicle dealers in the UK, secured the deal based on the successful performance of 10 Stralis tractor units it supplied in 2006.

Commenting on the new fleet, Dominic Yeardley, Managing Director of Eurovision Logistics, says: “This order represents investment of over £750,000 in new vehicles and bears testament to the performance of the Stralis and to the aftersales support we’ve received from NETV.”

“Launching Eurovision Logistics and investing in our fleet is a statement that we are confident about the future.  We have been through a tough recession but things are picking up and we want to be best placed to support our customers and take advantage of the upturn,” he adds.

Eurovision Logistics benefits from significant road transport expertise, combining the knowledge of European Road Freight, a specialist in transporting freight to Europe, and IJ Blakey Haulage, which boasts nearly 40 years experience in the domestic market.  The two firms have used their combined service offering as a strength which has enabled them to ride through the recession and emerge stronger than ever, with a product offering which extends to national and international services for both full and part loads.

The new vehicles join a fleet totalling 80 trucks and 60 trailers and are expected to remain on the fleet for at least four years, each clocking-up between 140,000 and 160,000 km a year.

They have been supplied on a comprehensive Iveco Elements repair and maintenance contract which will see all servicing and maintenance undertaken by NETV at its dealership in Hedon Road, Hull.  Located less than 1.5 miles from Eurovision Logistics, the dealership operates seven days a week and is one of eight NETV sites spanning the North and North East of England.
