Glenvale Transport

Posted by Ste Barlow at 04/08/2005 09:28 AM
No one can be bothered about the demise of Glenvale Transport Buses. Oh how I have laughed so often when the driver is on the phone with yet another breakdown call. They were becoming a big, big joke. they took CMT vehicles right down the tube. The only good ting was the short time they ran late night 10A services. Oh no sorry when they ran them that ran early with no one on. Good riddannce to a bad company.

glenvale tried to do a good job,but in the bus industry nowadays the biggest wins, new vehicles cost a lot of money and operating costs are very high,,the demise of gtl may not be that good because you are left with europes biggest operators on merseyside, that dont compete with each other, leaving no room for any more private operators,,stagecoach will improve the vehicles, but they want the money back

and again

merseyside transport was the best and the most fairest

GTL were rubbish! There buses were in a bad state. They were full of rubbish, seats hanging off and they needed repairing!! Stagecoach will be a lot better than GTL!

Loss of Identity

Posted by Snarling Mallard at 23/08/2005 06:14 PM
Ever since municipal undertakings were dissolved the overwhelming majority of our towns and cities lost a piece of their local identity and it was obvious that eventually a small number of big players would takeover virtually everything. Liverpool, along with most of the countries towns and cities, should have insisted that, as in London, the buses remained predominantly one colour. At least you would retain a little bit of local identity. Now there is nothing to distinguish a Liverpool bus from a Watford bus. At least when the transport was run by the local municipality we had some say in it.

In the area where I live Stagecoach have swept in and taken off three main services to an Industrial Estate leaving many people without transport to their work. All this has been done with little consultion with the travelling public and even less publicity.

Glenvale provided us with a service and many people would welcome them
back no matter what state their buses were in. Stagecoach and their
super dupa new buses are of no use whatsoever to us.

get them back
